Enemies
Enemies are an instrumental math rock and post-rock group from Kilcoole, Ireland. The band forms in 2007 and develops from a DIY approach, with the members writing, recording, producing and releasing their own records and organising their own tours.
Activity and releases
Over the course of its first seven years, the group tours in America, Europe and Asia and releases two full-length albums and three EPs. It works with The Richter Collective, Topshelf Records and Stiff Slack Records for international support. In 2013, the band releases its second album, Embark, Embrace, which includes pop and electronic influences, scattered vocals, and themes of escape and reinvigoration.
Embark, Embrace is recorded in The Meadow Studios in the first two months of the year and features guest vocals from Conor Adams of The Cast of Cheers, Heathers and other projects. By March, the band has tours booked for America, Japan, Hong Kong, China, the Philippines and Europe, with sold-out shows in Tokyo, New York, Osaka and Nagoya.
Line-up
After drummer Oisin Trench leaves in November 2013, the remaining members are Lewis Jackson, Mark O’Brien and Eoin Whitfield. The band then brings in Michael Quinn on drums and continues work on new material and live performances.
