Eliza Doolittle is the stage name of Eliza Sophie Caird, an English singer-songwriter from London. Born in 1988, she works in pop and soul and is associated with the United Kingdom. She is also listed as part of The Justice Collective.

Career

Doolittle signs to Parlophone in 2008. She tours the UK with her band before achieving chart success, and this later becomes a school-based “Playground Unplugged” tour with performances at Hagley RC High School, The Magna Carta School, The Bewdley School and Sixth Form Centre, Highworth Grammar School and Presdales School.

Recordings

Her first release is a self-titled EP containing the tracks “Rollerblades”, “Moneybox”, “Police Car” and “Go Home”. Tracks from the EP receive remixes from Plastic Little, Sam Young, and Jamie xx of The xx. The EP also receives radio play from Rob Da Bank, Nick Grimshaw, Fearne Cotton and Jo Whiley.

Her debut single, “Skinny Genes”, appears on a television advert for an online retailer. “Pack Up” follows as her second single and reaches the UK Singles Chart top five, while also appearing in the Top 20 of the Single Top 100 and the Irish Singles Chart. She also records “Running For Life”, which appears on the soundtrack to the film AdULTHOOD.

Albums

Her debut album, Eliza Doolittle, appears in 2010 and reaches number three in the UK charts. After its release, she has two more recordings enter the UK top 25, including “Skinny Genes”.

Live work

She appears as a special guest on Paloma Faith’s concert tour, which begins in October 2010.
