Electrixx
Electrixx is an electronic music group from Berlin, Germany, active since 2003. The project centres on Erik Venhues and Martin Liedtke, and begins as a live act formed by two producers who work under multiple aliases, including Tiefenrausch, Stigma 23, Monolith and Electronic Bitch.
Formation and early releases
The group starts in early 2003 after its two members meet and launch Electrixx as a live project. After more than nine years of experience in the music business, they release material quickly and build an early catalogue of club-oriented tracks.
The first major release is “Frequenzstörung” in 2004. It spends more than eight weeks in the top 10 of major online record stores in Europe, reaches number 13 in the ecc charts, and holds second place in the dance charts in Australia for two weeks. More than 4,500 copies sell in three months.
Singles, remixes and label work
After “Frequenzstörung”, Electrixx releases further tracks including “Turn around Baby” and “Chainsaw Massacre”. “Chainsaw Massacre” stays in the German dance charts at number 21 for four weeks, and receives playlist support from DJs such as Moguai and Blank & Jones. It also reaches first place in the consumer charts of the web-records online store for several weeks.
Alongside their own productions, Electrixx makes remixes for other artists, including DAGO’s “Bushes”, Andreas Henneberg’s “Vintage Warrior” and Stereofunk. In early 2006, they release “second lesson” on Hadshot Records. That release receives remixes from Monosurround and other international artists.
Live activity
From 2005 onward, Electrixx tours internationally and builds up live experience for the Freakshow album tour. The live show runs for more than 60 minutes and presents a selection of their main tracks.
Style
The group is associated with electro, electro house, electronic music, house and techno.
