Electric Empire is an Australian soul, funk and rhythm and blues group associated with Dennis Dowlut. The band builds its profile around a self-funded, self-penned, self-titled debut album that brings it to wider attention in the Australian music scene.

Career

After the debut album, Electric Empire gains industry respect and critical attention. The group tours as support for The Brand New Heavies and Fat Freddy’s Drop, and also supports Mayer Hawthorne and The Bamboos, the Australian funk and soul group led by Lance Ferguson. The band later supports Beverley Knight in the UK and Aloe Blacc on his national tour in Australia.
