EKKSTACY is the recording name of Canadian singer-songwriter Khyree Zienty, from Vancouver, Canada. He is associated with indie pop, indie rock and new wave, and describes his sound as a blend of indie, post-punk and synth wave.

Background

Zienty begins making music while at high school. His early work draws on film as well as artists such as Elliott Smith, The Drums, Bon Iver and Bedroom. He first makes songs over YouTube beats, using them as the base for his vocals.

Releases

His debut EP, Negative, appears in 2021. It includes “I Walk This Earth All by Myself”, which becomes his best-known song. In 2022 he releases Misery, an album that moves toward a more rock-oriented and new wave-influenced sound than his earlier material.
