Einar Solberg

Einar Solberg is a Norwegian singer, musician and songwriter from Notodden, Norway, born in 1985. He is best known as the lead vocalist, pianist and principal songwriter in the progressive rock band Leprous, where he is a member.

Solo work

He begins a solo career with the album 16, a collection built around collaborations with a wide range of songwriters, composers and musicians. The record brings together artists from progressive and experimental music, including Ben Levin of Bent Knee, Toti Gudnason of Agent Fresco, cellist Raphael Weinroth-Browne, Magnus Børmark of Gåte, and Ihsahn and Starofash, with whom Solberg also works again on the release.

Musical style

Solberg’s work sits within progressive rock, with pop and progressive metal also associated with him. His solo material is described through contrast and variety, while still connected to the musical world he establishes through Leprous.
