Egyptrixx

Egyptrixx is a Canadian electronic musician associated with dubstep and post-dubstep. Based in Toronto, he builds club-focused tracks that combine elements of techno, house, dubstep and pop, with a sound marked by tension between melodic and dissonant ideas, and between rapturous and more abrasive moods.

Career

In a short period, Egyptrixx becomes a notable name in underground dance music. His work gains praise from DJs including Sinden, Mary Ann Hobbs and Drop the Lime, and from publications such as The Fader, XLR8R and The Wire. His records also receive regular play on BBC Radio 1 and Kiss FM.

He releases music on Night Slugs and Ramp Recordings. His live sets are in demand, with headline performances across Europe and North America and an active touring schedule. He is also described as making “celestial club music” with a style that is energetic and deliberately off-centre.
