Echaskech
Echaskech are a London electronic group active since 2004. The project centres on Andy Gillham, Dom Hoare and Mach V, and is associated with Hackney. They are signed to Just Music, alongside artists including Jon Hopkins, Marconi Union, Leo Abrahams, Laki Mera and Digitonal.
The group works across electronic music, drawing on a wide range of styles including classical, electro, rave, drum and bass, IDM, ambient, house, techno and bass music. Their recordings combine electronic and acoustic equipment, and their music often moves between delicate, melancholic passages and more expansive, uplifting sections.
Echaskech have collaborated with, remixed, and worked with Max Cooper, Jon Hopkins, James Yuill, Roots Manuva and Kraddy. Their third album for Just Music, Origin, adds analogue hardware, live percussion, field recordings, piano, bass guitar and acoustic guitar to software synthesis and sound design. The album is shaped around ideas of otherworldly and organic atmosphere, exploration and habitation of new worlds, and includes the tracks “Anomie”, “Scanners” and “Paper Scissors”.
