EarthKry is a Jamaican roots reggae band formed by four musicians at the Edna Manley College of the Visual & Performing Arts in Kingston, Jamaica. The group brings together keyboard player Phillip McFarlane, drummer Kieron Cunningham, bass guitarist Kamardo Blake and vocalist/guitarist Aldayne Haughton.

The band develops a sound that combines roots reggae with soul and rock, drawing on influences including Bob Marley and The Wailers, The Beatles, John Holt, Peter Tosh, Jacob Miller, Black Uhuru and Steel Pulse. Their name reflects a purpose of using music to express the concerns of ordinary people.

EarthKry’s debut single is “9 to 5”, a song about the pressures of working-class life and low wages. Since 2013, the band has also spent time recording with other artistes while refining its style.

The group works under the guidance of veteran drummer and lecturer Derrick Stewart, veteran trumpeter Nambo Robinson and guitarist and former tutor Maurice Gordon, and is developing its first EP and debut album, Hard Road.
