E-Z Rollers

E-Z Rollers are a drum and bass group from Norfolk, United Kingdom, active since 1995. The group consists of Alex Banks, Jay Hurren, Jakes and Kelly Richards, and their sound is associated with atmospheric drum and bass, drum and bass, drumfunk and liquid funk.

Career

The group first releases music on Moving Shadow, then sets up its own label, Intercom Recordings. Their studio albums include Dimensions of Sound, Weekend World, Titles of the Unexpected and Conductor.

Notable tracks and uses

Early releases include “Rolled into One”. “Short Change” serves as the theme music for the video game Grand Theft Auto 2, and “Cop Theme” appears on the soundtrack to Sled Storm. A remix of “Tough at the Top” by Origin Unknown is also associated with the group.

Several other tracks feature in game soundtracks: “Soundclash” appears in Rollcage, “Breakbeat Generation” is used in the introduction of Rollcage Stage II, and “Retro” and “Soundclash” are included in TOCA 2 Touring Cars. “Walk This Land” appears in the film Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels and reaches number 18 on the UK Singles Chart in April 1999.
