DZ Deathrays
DZ Deathrays are an Australian dance-punk group from Brisbane, active since 2008. The act consists of Simon Ridley and Shane Parsons, and is described as a two-piece party rock band. It was previously known as DZ.
Releases
Their debut EP, Ruined My Life, is released in 2009. The first album, Bloodstreams, follows in 2012. The third album, Bloody Lovely, appears in 2018, and the fourth album, Positive Rising Pt. 1, is issued in 2019.
Background
The group starts out playing house parties and keeps that loose, direct approach as part of its identity. Its sound is centred on dance-punk, with punk and thrash-pop also attached to the act.
