Dÿse

Dÿse is a noise rock and post-hardcore duo from Jena, Germany, active from 2003 onwards. The group forms around Jarii van Gohl and André, and it begins as a side project for the pair to play music without fixed limits or expectations. The name comes from the Dysecatmotel in Amsterdam, where they first meet.

Early releases and live work

The duo forms in spring 2003. In 2004 it releases the first part of a trilogy of 7-inch singles, Honig (Honey). This is followed by Aga Ragnag in 2005 and Houthakkertje in 2006. Between these releases, Dÿse plays many concerts and develops a tight live act, then undertakes a four-week tour across Europe and the UK to support the completion of the three singles.

Label association

After returning from that tour, the group is approached by Exile on Mainstream Records and joins the label roster.
