Dyro

Dyro is the stage name of Dutch DJ and producer Jordy van Egmond. He emerges in 2013 as a major new name in electronic dance music and builds a reputation for progressive house, electro house, big room house and related club styles.

Early career and breakthrough

He begins making dance music in 2011 and reaches out to established artists for early support. One of the first major connections he makes is with Hardwell, who signs Dyro’s first EP to Revealed Recordings. That release, Daftastic, becomes an early turning point and helps introduce his music to a wider DJ audience.

Dyro later debuts at number 30 in the DJ Mag Top 100 poll, becoming the youngest artist to enter the poll as the highest new entry at that time. He is also named by Hardwell, Laidback Luke and Dada Life as a breakthrough artist for 2012.

Releases and collaborations

His first Beatport number one record is Never Say Goodbye, a collaboration with Hardwell. The track becomes one of his best-known releases and is widely played by major DJs including Tiësto, Steve Angello, Afrojack and Sander van Doorn. He also collaborates with Tiësto on Paradise, which receives strong radio play and reaches number 6 in the Beatport top ten.

Other singles highlighted in his catalogue include Top Of The World, Grid with Bassjackers, Leprechauns & Unicorns and Go Down, all of which perform strongly in the Beatport charts.

Remixes and radio

His remix work includes versions of Rihanna and David Guetta’s Hot Right Now, Benny Benassi featuring John Legend’s Dance The Pain Away, Axwell’s Center of the Universe and Katy Perry’s Wide Awake. He also hosts the SiriusXM radio show Daftastic, which gives him a space to test new mixes, edits and tracks.

Live appearances and touring

Dyro appears on major club and festival line-ups in North America and Europe. His dates include clubs such as LIV in Miami, Ministry of Sound in London, The Light in Las Vegas, Space in Ibiza, Pacha in Ibiza, Mansion in Croatia and Queen Club in France, as well as festivals including EDC Las Vegas, Dance Valley, Electric Zoo, Tomorrowworld, Tomorrowland and Mysteryland. He also joins Hardwell and Dannic on the Revealed Recordings Canadian Bus Tour, co-headlines The Grid Tour with Bassjackers and later takes part in a Revealed North America tour with Dannic.

His productions are described through driving bass lines, melodic hooks and heavy drops, with a sound that blends electro influences, progressive elements and big-room energy.
