Dust Bolt

Dust Bolt is a thrash metal group from Landsberg am Lech in Bavaria, Germany. It forms in 2006 and remains active. The band consists of four musicians: Lenny Breuss, Flo Dehn, Benedikt Münzel and Nico Remann.

Early years and live work

The group begins playing together at a young age and performs live early in its career. Under an earlier band name, it plays regional shows before moving on to support slots for acts including Sepultura, Hypocrisy and Napalm Death. It also tours Europe with Six Feet Under and wins the Wacken Metal Battle Germany, which leads to an appearance at Wacken Open Air.

Recordings and label work

In 2010 the band releases its first demo tape, Chaos Possession, under the Dust Bolt name. The release is recognised by Metal Hammer Germany as a top newcomer act and is named “Demotape of the Month”. Dust Bolt then records its first full-length album, Violent Demolition, and signs to Napalm Records. The debut sells more than 5,000 copies worldwide. Napalm Records also releases the band’s first two official videos, for “Violent Abolition” and “Toxic Attack”.

Recognition and later activity

Dust Bolt’s early success leads to an increasing number of club and festival appearances. In 2013 it tours Germany with Obituary and later tours Europe with Heathen. The band is nominated for “best album 2012” and “best newcomer” at the Metal Hammer Awards in 2013. It then returns to the studio to record its second album, Awake the Riot.
