Durry

Durry is an alternative pop and indie rock group from Burnsville, United States. The band forms in the early pandemic period after Austin moves back into his parents’ house with his wife, Ashley, and his sister, Taryn. With time to write, Austin returns to songwriting and regularly asks Taryn for input, and the project develops into a band.

Breakthrough and early releases

Durry gains wider attention in 2021 with “Who’s Laughing Now”, a song that spreads online through its music video and social media. The track becomes the band’s breakthrough and helps bring its 2023 debut album, Suburban Legend, into broader attention.

Style and later work

The band works across a range of sounds within its alternative pop and indie rock base. Its recordings include the fuzzed-out opening track “Bully”, the jangly pop of “More Dumb”, and the arranged ballad “IDK I Just Work Here”. These tracks appear on the sophomore album This Movie Sucks, which follows a period without new music and continues the group’s genre-hopping approach while remaining cohesive.

Durry’s membership centres on Austin and Ashley, with Taryn contributing as part of the family-based setup that shapes the project’s early songwriting.
