Duo

Duo is a group name used by more than one act. One version is a two-person project from Marseille made up of Gery Pern and K_Rent, both disc jockeys who develop a shared approach through similar musical tastes. Their sound is shaped by the Circoloco scene at DC10 in Ibiza and by artists associated with those parties, including Ricardo Villalobos, Loco Dice, Luciano and Tania Vulcano, as well as the wider team around them.

These Marseille DJs build their reputation through sets alongside a range of artists in southern France, including Carl Cox, Stacey Pullen, Kiko, Sarah Goldfarb, Humantronic and Dani Masi. From that work they develop their own style, described as minimal house with a groovier, sharper edge, and they also compose music.

Another act using the same name is a newly formed Finnish group of two young women artists. They are associated with the song Panisin, described as one of the summer tracks of 2012, and with a cover of Trio’s Da-Da-Da.
