Dual

Dual is the UK experimental electronics project of Colin Bradley, active since 1993. The work is associated with drone ambient, experimental, surreal ambient, dark ambient and sound art, and is noted for detailed guitar textures, ethereal post-industrial atmospheres, and recurring metronomic pulses and breath-like rhythms.

Background

The project develops from Bradley’s work in the United Kingdom and builds a long catalogue of releases across several labels. Its output is described through imagery of sustained motifs and expansive, atmospheric compositions rather than conventional song structures.

Releases and labels

Dual has releases on DRONE, Dirter, Evelyn and Fourth Dimension, among others. It also issues music through CEE Recordings, the project’s own imprint. Tocsin appears as the first full-length release since Keimar Sty and is issued on Belgium’s Mystery Sea label as part of a series of “meta-aquatic” journeys.
