Dua Saleh

Dua Saleh is a Sudanese-American recording artist, songwriter, poet, and actor from Kassalā and based in Minneapolis, Minnesota. They use they/xe pronouns and come to the United States from Sudan as a child.

Music and early development

Saleh writes poetry from an early age and begins experimenting with music while attending Augsburg University. They release a demo in 2017, then start working with Minneapolis producer Psymun and begin performing live.

Their debut EP, Nūr, is released in January 2019 on the Against Giants label. It receives critical acclaim. Their music is described as rap, pop and R&B, and also as genre-defying. The artist is associated with experimental, R&B, soul and alternative R&B.

Other work and discography

Alongside music, Saleh acts in the Minneapolis theater scene.

Their recorded work includes the single Warm Pants in 2018; the Nūr EP and Nūr - The Remixes in 2019; the singles Sugar Mama / A Colors Show, Warm Pants - Com Truise Remix and pretty kittens in 2019; and the singles Moth, manOman / mOth and Umbrellar in 2020, as well as the ROSETTA EP in 2020.
