Drumatik is a psychedelic trance artist from Switzerland, based around Benjamin Klingemann. He is described as half-German and half-American, and he begins making music in childhood, with his first drum kit at the age of three. As a teenager, he studies at conservatory level and continues to play in a rock band for enjoyment.

Background

Klingemann works as a manager in a music shop for more than ten years, which gives him the setting to establish a professional studio. At the end of the 1990s, he discovers electronic music and starts DJing at raves. He then becomes involved in psychedelic trance, drawn to its sound design and its associated culture. From that point, he performs as DJ Drumatik at parties and festivals in different countries.

Project and style

The Drumatik project begins in 2004. His music is described as tribal, futuristic and uncompromising, and he plays both as a DJ and with his own live productions. He builds on a strong rhythmic background developed through early drumming and later musical training.

Releases and labels

Drumatik releases music on Peak Records and Mind Expansion. His first album experience, Peak Process, appears on Peak Records in 2006, alongside other appearances on compilations. His second album, Space Invader, is released on Mind Expansion. Fiction Addictions is released on Temple Twisters Records.

Activity

He is one of Switzerland’s established DJs and performs psytrance internationally. He also continues to play in a rock band.
