Drinking Boys and Girls Choir

Drinking Boys and Girls Choir are a punk and rock group from Daegu, South Korea. They form in 2013 and remain active. The group begins when two drummers, MJ and Meena, share a rehearsal space and decide to start a band. Meena moves to bass, and guitarist Bondu joins after responding to their ad; he has just completed his military service.

The trio develop around a shared interest in drinking, skating and punk music. Their sound is described as skate punk, and they are influenced by Sum 41, NOFX and the Daegu hardcore punk and indie-rock scene of the 1990s and 2000s, before much of that scene shifts to Seoul. The group also takes a clear position against moving to the capital, instead focusing on building a sustainable local scene in Daegu.
