Downard

Downard are a two-piece group from Bristol, active since 2012. They play atmospheric, noisy riff rock and use a heavily treated sound built around bass, drums, voice and effects.

Line-up and sound

Katie-Sue Louise Mizen plays an up-tuned short-scale bass through various amplifiers and effect pedals. Andy Robin Pickett plays drums and sings through additional effects. The duo’s setup is minimal, but their arrangement relies on layered amplification and processing to create their sound.
