Down I Go
Down I Go are a group from London, United Kingdom, active since 2005. Their sound sits across experimental, math rock, mathcore and noisecore, and they are associated with chaotic hardcore and disastercore.
The band forms in 2005 and develops a reputation for a highly abrasive, genre-defying approach to hardcore and noise. They are credited with coining sub-genres including Disastercore and Robotcore, among others. Their work includes three albums, two EPs and a range of other recordings.
Down I Go operate as a DIY project, handling their own recordings, videos and artwork. Their material combines noisy, twisted and satirical elements with sharp lyrical themes, and their releases cover subjects including dictators, disasters, dinosaurs and robots.
The group’s later material brings together these themes in a release centred on gods, presented as a single connected piece rather than just a standard collection of tracks. Across their catalogue, they build a cult following through their chaotic style and self-produced output.
