Dosem

Dosem is the solo project of Marc Dosem, a house and techno artist from Girona, Spain. He grows up in Catalonia and begins making music after experimenting with early personal computers and digital music production software.

Background and style

His work draws on dub, house and techno, as well as the club culture of Barcelona and Girona. He starts performing live under the name Dosem in 2006, and initially builds his profile in the Spanish electronic scene.

Live career and releases

As his reputation grows, he appears at major clubs and festivals in Spain including Blau Club in Girona, Nitsa Club in Barcelona, Family Club in Toledo, Florida 135 in Fraga and Klubbers Meeting in Madrid. He also performs in Germany, France, Belgium and the Netherlands, at venues including Rex Club in Paris and Fuse in Brussels.

From 2007 and 2008 onwards, he releases tracks on a range of labels including Natura Sonoris, Paradigm, Cray1 Labworks, Zenit, Antezenit, Minisketch, Parallel 125, Cutz, Upfront Records, 4Line, V-Label and his own Soundfate imprint.

Notable tracks and label work

His track Beach Kisses appears in 2008 on Neue Lärmklassiker and receives support from DJs including Tiësto, Laurent Garnier, Technasia, Joris Voorn and Angel Molina. It is later reissued on Joris Voorn’s Green label. In 2009, he signs to the Hong Kong label Sino for a series of EPs beginning with Silent Drop.

Recognition

In the 2009 DJ Top 100 of Spanish Go Magazine, he is voted Best Spanish Producer of 2008.
