Donny Osmond

Donny Osmond is a pop singer, actor and entertainer from Ogden, United States. Born in 1957, he first appears on the Andy Williams Show at the age of five and then develops into one of the major teen idols of the 1970s. His career spans more than four decades, and he repeatedly shifts between solo work and group success.

Early career and The Osmonds

Osmond performs both as a solo act and as a member of The Osmonds. With the group, he scores a run of hits that includes One Bad Apple, Puppy Love, Sweet and Innocent and Go Away Little Girl. His association with The Osmonds is a central part of his early pop success.

Solo work and later recordings

As a solo performer, Osmond continues to build a long recording career and also works in smooth jazz. One of his later solo singles is Breeze On By, taken from his 54th album What I Meant To Say. He also releases Love Songs of the '70s, a collection of covers of 1970s love songs including Will It Go 'Round In Circles and Oh Girl.

Film and notable songs

Osmond also records I'll Make A Man Out Of You for the 1998 Walt Disney Pictures film Mulan, which becomes his biggest hit. The song helps introduce him to a later generation of listeners and remains one of his best-known recordings.
