Dom Kane

Dom Kane is a Cardiff-based DJ, producer and audio engineer, born in 1982, associated with tech house, techno, minimal, deep house and ambient music. He is an official Moog endorsed artist and works across DJing, production, remixing and sound design.

Career

Kane begins DJing in 1992 during the free-party era and first plays to large crowds at an early stage in his career. By 1995 he is performing with residencies across the southwest of England, and he also takes guest slots in Ibiza during the summer of 1998. He starts a monthly residency with Proton Radio in 2004.

In 2006 he launches Xeton Records and takes part in a four-month tour of Eastern Europe with BenQ-Siemens to promote a new 3G mobile phone brand. In 2007 he receives broad support from dance music press, including BPM, Mixmag, DJ Mag, 365 and EQ, and appears in six entries in IDJ Magazine’s June 2007 edition, including a Breaks Top Tune and a Heavy Rotation placement for his remix of Unique 3’s “The Theme”.

His 2008 activity includes remixes for Roger Sanchez on Stealth Records, Stereo Hookers on Nuuf Music and Zimbardo on Benchmarc Records. He also releases his first artist album, My Virus.

Remixes, labels and production work

Kane remixes Halcyon, the Orbital track, and the version gains support from James Zabiela, Hernan Cattaneo, Sander Kleinenberg, Sasha, Paul Van Dyk, Armin Van Buuren and Pete Tong on BBC Radio One, as well as praise from the Hartnoll brothers and reviews in DJ Mag, IDJ and Mixmag. In 2009 he remixes for Global Underground and works on alpha testing and patch design for Deadmau5 and Steve Duda’s Xfer.

He launches Xeton Records in 2006 and later Base10, described as the melodic sister label to Xeton Records. He is also linked with 5302 Recordings.

Other activity

Kane releases a Tech-House Producer sample and loops pack for LoopMasters’ Artist Series, which reaches number one in the bestseller chart and remains there for six weeks. He is rated by IDJ Magazine as “The Year’s Fastest-Rising Underground Talent”.
