Dog in the Snow is the project of Helen, who draws on indie pop, alternative and dream pop. The name combines a warm phrase with the bleak ending of Kafka’s The Trial, reflecting the contrast that runs through the music.

Her work is influenced by Scott Walker, Sufjan Stevens and Susumu Yokota. It also reflects her own experience of being mixed race and a foreigner to her homelands, with songs that explore self-identity through culture and ideas.
