Doechii

Doechii is a US rapper from Tampa, Florida. Born Jaylah Ji’mya Hickmon in 1998, she also uses the stage name Doechii and was previously stylised as iamdoechii. She begins her career as a YouTuber, posting vlogs and other videos, including music.

Career

Doechii first releases the single “Girls” in 2018. After that, she releases “Spookie Coochie” in 2019, followed by the compilation Coven Music Session, Vol. 1, which mainly collects short songs previously uploaded to her YouTube channel. In November 2020, she releases the EP Oh The Places You’ll Go, which includes “Yucky Blucky Fruitcake”, a track that goes viral on TikTok. She then issues the follow-up single “What’s your name?”.

In 2021, she releases the mini-tape Bra-Less, which includes an updated version of “Girls”. In 2022, she is named as part of XXL magazine’s freshman class. In 2025, she wins the Grammy for Best Rap Album for ALLIGATOR BITES NEVER HEAL.
