DLR
DLR is a drum and bass producer and DJ from Bristol, UK. He is associated with the drum and bass scene in a range of techstep and neurofunk-influenced work, and is linked to Sofa Sound Bristol. He also appears as part of the collaboration projects Cymatic, OneMind, The Sauce, and Octane & DLR.
Career
Under the name James DLR, he comes to prominence as part of Octane & DLR, whose debut album Method In The Madness appears in 2012. The release is named by Kmag as one of the top five albums of the year, and tracks including “Murmur” and “Set Up The Set” receive heavy support from DJs and airplay on Radio 1.
In 2013, DLR moves into solo work and releases tracks on Dispatch Recordings, Horizons Music and Shogun Audio. During this period he also works with Hydro, Mako, Villem, Prolix and Break.
Notable performances and collaborations
His live profile includes a surprise back-to-back set with Goldie on the Metalheadz stage at Outlook Festival. He also records a collaboration with Mako that is due to appear on the Your Mind EP on Metalheadz.
