DJ Vadim

DJ Vadim is a producer and DJ from Sankt-Peterburg, United Kingdom, known for work in electronic music. He builds his style across hip hop, trip-hop, soul, funk, grime, reggae, dub and bass, and he is described as a veteran figure in the DJ community with a broad reputation as a producer.

Career

In 1994, he founds his independent label, Jazz Fudge, and the following year he signs to Ninja Tune. His career spans solo work and group projects, with releases on Ninja Tune, Jazzfudge, Wordsound and BBE. He tours widely, performing in 68 countries and giving more than 2,500 live sets.

His catalogue includes tracks such as The Terrorist, Black Is the Night and Bluebird. He also appears on a range of solo and group albums that move across his wide genre range.

Collaborations and projects

Vadim works with a long list of artists and groups, including DJ Krush, Company Flow, The Roots, The Pharcyde, Public Enemy, Beat Junkies, Dilated Peoples, Kraftwerk, Ed Rush, Morcheeba, Super Furry Animals, The Bug, Skinnyman, Killa Kela, Mr. Thing, DJ Woody and Paul Weller.

He forms and produces several groups, including The Bug, The Isolationist, The Russian Percussion, One Self and The Electric. He is also associated with 7 Notas 7 Colores, which brings him a Latin Grammy nomination in 2002. His BBC World Service radio programme Around the World in 8 Relays is nominated for a Sony Award, and he also runs a monthly Mixcloud show.
