DJ Todd is the alias of Todd Clayton, a Toronto-based radio host and DJ associated with the weekly internet radio show Real Synthetic Audio (RSA). The show focuses on electronic music, especially synthpop, EBM, industrial, techno and goth, and it begins broadcasting in 1998.
RSA starts as a 30-minute programme and later expands to 45 minutes. It is commercial-free and available in streamed and downloadable formats, including MP3, Real Media and Windows Media. It also becomes available as a podcast and through iTunes subscription. The show is presented in a radio-style format with breaks rather than as a simple playlist.
The programme is posted every Monday for most of the year and is described as the longest-running shorter-length radio programme on the web. Clayton is also noted for his on-air catchphrases and for humorous criticism of his use of the word “anyways” and his handling of German language.
