DJ Nobu

DJ Nobu is a Japanese DJ and producer from Chiba city, Japan, also known as Bombrush!. He is associated with techno, ambient and electronic music, and is widely identified with the Japanese underground scene.

Future Terror

He is best known as the figure behind the Future Terror parties, which run in various venues in Chiba. The event has a long-running presence in his hometown and brings in international guests including Marcel Dettmann, Mike “Agent X” Clark and Steffi.

Performances and activity

His work takes him beyond Japan, with Berlin and Detroit noted as important international locations in his career. Marcel Dettmann also brings him to Berlin in 2011 for one of his few performances outside Japan. In Japan, he is known for a heavy schedule of club dates and is said to play as many as 90 gigs a year across the country.

Place in Japanese electronic music

Despite a limited discography and relatively low international profile, DJ Nobu is regarded alongside Takkyu Ishino, Fumiya Tanaka and Ken Ishii as one of the most prominent names associated with Japanese electronic music.
