DJ Naughty
DJ Naughty is the name used by two different artists. One is Filippo Moscatello, a German DJ and producer who starts recording in 1996 and also works under his own name. He is associated with German disco house and releases on International Deejay Gigolo Records, Eskimo Recordings and Moodmusic.
House, broken beat and UK funky
The second DJ Naughty begins an onslaught in house and broken beat in early 2004, at a time when the scene is still small and largely dominated by US and European tracks. He is among the early figures in the style alongside Invasion Records, Geeneus, Fuzzy Logik, Roska and Crazy Cousinz.
His first release appears in 2008 on Spoil Rotten Entertainment as Quicktime EP, a three-track record that helps mark a shift towards London-influenced funky sounds with grime-influenced textures and heavy percussion. He follows it in early 2009 with My Rules EP on the same label, and completes numerous remixes in 2009. By 2012, he is presented as looking to rebrand and reclaim his position within the scene.
