DJ Mustard is Dijon McFarlane, an American record producer and DJ from Los Angeles. He is associated with contemporary R&B, hip hop, ratchet music and trap, and is identified with the West Coast hip hop style he calls “ratchet music”.

He is known as rapper YG’s DJ and for producing a number of hit singles, including Tyga’s “Rack City”, 2 Chainz’s “I’m Different” and YG’s “My Nigga”. His production style is described through its up-tempo, club-oriented sound and its simple melodic approach. At the start of many tracks he produces, he uses the signature line “Mustard on the beat, ho!”.
