Dj Maphorisa is the professional name of Themba Sekowe, a South African DJ, record producer, singer and songwriter from Pretoria. Born in 1987, he works across afro house, afrobeats, amapiano, gqom and house, and is also associated with electronic music more broadly.

He builds his sound around a mix of house music, amapiano and afropop. Before setting up his own label, BlaqBoy Music, he is signed to Kalawa Jazmee Records.
