DJ K.O.

DJ K.O. is a hip-hop DJ and producer from New Jersey, United States. He begins his career as a DJ at Rutgers University and later moves into party promotion in New York City in 2003. That period brings him into contact with a range of musicians, and he uses those connections to build a music career through mixtapes and local shows around New Brunswick.

Elementality Productions

In 2004, DJ K.O. forms Elementality Productions with his friend Auracle as a platform for New Jersey talent. The roster develops into a team that includes K.O. himself, producer Analogic, and the MCs Silent Knight, Kaze and East. He works within this local scene to bring artists together around a single direction.

Shaman Work releases and collaborators

DJ K.O. later reconnects with John Robinson, who adds him to the Shaman Work roster. His stated approach as a DJ is to present the best rappers over the best beats, with an emphasis on the overall arrangement. His first project for the label is Perception Is Everything, an EP that features Phonte, Royce Da 5’9 and Masta Ace. His first full-length album, Picture This, is also part of his recorded output. He is associated with Elementality Productions and the US hip-hop and underground rap scenes.
