DJ Griff is the DJ alias of Marco Greven, who is born in Amsterdam. He starts playing records at the age of 15 and develops a wide set of influences that includes Mantronix, Boogie Down Productions, U2, Depeche Mode and The Talking Heads. In 1988 he begins playing acid house, then moves through styles including New York house, Detroit techno and ambient. In 1992 he buys his first Technics SL-1200 turntables, which marks the start of his DJ career.

He works mainly with vinyl and is known for a smooth, seamless transitional style. His sound combines deep, dark, tribal techno and breakbeats with big-room anthems. He has been active on and off the turntables for over 20 years and joins Frisky Radio in 2002. Since 2005 he co-hosts The Deepest Level Show with DJ @lias, presenting deep progressive music on the third Thursday of each month.
