DJ Fusion is a UK DJ and producer, identified in the 1990s jungle scene as Simon Flindall. He starts out in club music in Scotland and builds a reputation for mixing across styles rather than sticking to one genre.

Career

He begins DJing at the age of 15, first playing indie dance, hip hop and techno. He then moves into early rave, Italian house and breakbeat, performing in small clubs and venues across Fife. In 1994 and 1995, he also plays jungle sets at Rebel Yell.

DJ Fusion becomes a resident at Nosebleed, Core, Impact and Club X, and also appears as a guest DJ at venues across Scotland. His sets combine hard trance and techno, with occasional gabba, and he also plays trance, techno and chillout at Wilkie House in Edinburgh.

Production and releases

He produces his own music and is signed to Breeze, Storm and Cool Breeze Records. In the mid-1990s he releases Frequency, which is licensed to the Dutch double album Ravers Religion on Sony Music. He also releases This Time, recordings under the name Headhunter on Storm Records, and the white-label Kingdom of Trance E.P. on Cool Breeze.

Fusion Project

With MC Loco, he performs as the P.A. act Fusion Project, presenting his releases around Scotland. In 2007, they return to the studio to work on new Fusion Project material.

Style

His work centres on hard trance and hard techno, with gabba also part of his range. The name Fusion reflects his preference for crossing genres rather than limiting himself to one style.
