DJ Arcane

DJ Arcane is the alias of Markus N., a DJ associated with schranz. He is born in Działdowo, Poland, and moves to Germany with his parents and brother when he is five. After settling in Germany, he first listens to hip hop with friends, but later turns to techno.

Early development

His interest in techno grows through the Thunderdome series, Rave Base and other techno CDs. He then discovers schranz and decides that it is the style he wants to pursue. He buys a turntable set and begins mixing.

Work as a DJ

Two years after starting to mix, he releases his first mix, Schranzbox. The set draws strong attention and encourages him to practise further. He also makes connections with several prominent schranz DJs and is recognised by listeners as a hard-driving track spinner. He presents his own style as a way of expressing his view of techno.
