Divide and Dissolve

Divide and Dissolve is an instrumental doom metal group from Melbourne, Australia. It centres on saxophonist and guitarist Takiaya Reed, who is Tsalagi, and percussionist Sylvie Nehill, who is Māori. The group uses drums, guitar, saxophone and live effects to create atmospheric sludge metal, drone and doom metal.

Their work is framed around Black and Indigenous empowerment and opposition to white supremacy. Their debut album, Basic, appears in 2017, followed by Abomination in 2018. Their third album, Gas Lit, is released digitally in 2020 and later appears on vinyl and CD through UK label Invada Records in 2021.
