Disturbance
Disturbance is a Dutch punk band from Rotterdam. It forms in the mid-1990s and plays traditional punk with a street-level, anti-establishment approach. The group begins as a four-piece and performs widely in Rotterdam before extending its shows across the Netherlands.
Line-up
By 1998, the original drummer leaves and the band continues after finding a replacement from Cenobites, a Dutch psychobilly group from the underground scene. The later line-up consists of Rob on vocals, Dim on guitar, Joz on bass and Kiel on drums.
Releases and activity
Disturbance issues its first EP, Live on to Decline, in 2001 on Tocado Records. The release receives airplay on Belgian radio stations Donna and Studio Brussel, and its first pressings on Dutch white vinyl and later worldwide brown vinyl both sell out. The band’s debut album, Malice in Slumberland, appears in 2003 on Streetmusic Berlin.
Live performances
The band plays venues and events across a wide range, including Nighttown and the Stubnitz freight ship. It also appears at the Heel erg punk festival, which results in two live CDs that include Disturbance among the performers.
