District Five
District Five is a Swiss experimental jazz group from Zürich. The band takes its name from Zürich’s District 5 and is made up of four multi-instrumentalists: Paul Amereller, Vojko Huter, Tapiwa Svosve and Xaver Rüegg.
The group begins as a free jazz act and develops through long-term collaboration, with the members sharing rehearsal spaces and stages for more than ten years. Its music moves between jazz, pop-leaning passages and other experimental forms while remaining rooted in its own sound.
District Five issues four albums: Decoy (2018), Burnt Sugar (2022), Pause (2023) and Come Closer (2024).
