Distonn

Distonn is a breakcore act from Sankt-Peterburg, Russia, active since 2008. The project works with breakcore, jungle beats and heavy guitar elements, and is associated with drum and bass, dubstep and mashup as well.

Releases

In 2008, Distonn releases two EPs and a split. Junglist Anarchy appears on Wicked Area Records, and Sick Shit appears on Dadaist Audio. A further split with MIDI Fister, Out of Spirit, appears on Wicked Area Records.

Related work and activities

Distonn also produces the AcidCore breakcore zine and CD-R compilation. Together with friends, the project helps organise parties in Saint-Petersburg under the name AcidCore FEST.

Style and themes

The music draws on punk influences from bands such as Recharge, Wolfbrigade and Skit System. The project is also associated with anarchism, veganism and anti-xenophobia.
