Dishonour the Crown

Dishonour the Crown is a London-based UK crossover thrash group active since 2012. The band begins as a small project intended to produce only a couple of tracks, but it develops into a fuller act with a six-track EP, a music video, merchandise and live dates.

Formation and style

The group forms in August 2012 around Ron D on guitar, who also plays in Romeo Must Die, and Tom Hennessy on vocals, known as Tom “KINGSIZE” Hennessy and also associated with Kingsize Blues. The material reflects Tom’s frustration with conditions in the country and Ron’s interest in aggressive music. The band’s sound combines hardcore, thrash and grind elements, with thrash metal as its core genre classification.

Line-up

By the end of September 2012 the line-up includes Brad Merry on drums and James Oldman on bass, both from Trenchhead. Brad later leaves because of increasing commitments and is replaced by Ben Moss.

Releases and activity

The band records the six-track EP Gone to the Dogs and makes the title track into a music video by November 2012. The EP is available as a free download, and the group continues as an active crossover act from the UK scene.
