Dirty Loops

Dirty Loops is a Swedish group that is active from 2008 and is based in Stockholm. The band consists of Jonah Nilsson on vocals and keyboards, Henrik Linder on bass, and Aron Mellergårdh on drums. Its sound sits across experimental, funk, jazz, jazz fusion, jazz pop and pop.

Style and repertoire

The group becomes known for reworking well-known pop songs in its own style, using jazz and funk-led arrangements. Its versions of tracks such as Lady Gaga’s “Just Dance” and Britney Spears’ “Circus” show that approach, while the material is not limited to covers alone.

Original release

Dirty Loops’ first original album is Loopified. It appears first in Japan in 2014, then in Europe and America soon afterwards. The album includes 12 tracks, 10 of which are original songs. A Japanese special edition also includes one extra original song, one additional cover and a DVD.
