Dirty Honkers

Dirty Honkers is a German electro swing group based in Berlin and active since 2009. The trio brings together hip hop production, singing, saxophone and rapping, and performs with a line-up made up of Gad Baruch Hinkis, also known as D.J. Neckbreaka, from Israel, Andrea Roberts, also known as Screechy 2 Shoes, from Canada, and Florent Mannant, also known as Flap Jack Malone, from France.

Style and lineup

The group works across electro swing, swing, jazz and electroswing, combining Berlin techno influences with swing jive, foxy vocals and rap. Its members each contribute to the act’s hybrid sound: Hinkis is a hip hop producer and singer, while Roberts and Mannant are saxophonists and singers.

Releases and compilation appearances

Dirty Honkers release their first full-length album, Death By Swing, on Banzai Lab in France. The single Gingerbread Man appears on several compilation albums, including Electro Swing vol. III on Wagram Music in France and Best of Electro Swing on Rambling Records in Japan.

Live performance

The group is associated with a high-energy live show that includes homemade joysticks, game controllers and saxophone-driven performance. Their music is described as part of the electro swing movement while also drawing on pop culture and aiming at a new dance audience.
