Dio Disciples

Dio Disciples is a heavy metal tribute group from Los Angeles, United States, active since 2011. The band is formed to honour Ronnie James Dio and to keep his music in performance, as a tribute act dedicated to his legacy.

Line-up and background

The group brings together former Dio members Craig Goldy on guitar, Rudy Sarzo on bass, Simon Wright on drums and Scott Warren on keyboards. It also features vocalists Tim “Ripper” Owens, Toby Jepson and James LoMenzo. Other associated members listed with the act include Bjorn Englen, Oni Logan and Mark Boals.

Context

The project is associated with the wider Dio repertoire and with the hard rock and heavy metal tradition linked to Ronnie James Dio, including his work with Black Sabbath. It is presented as a live tribute ensemble rather than an original recording act.
