Ding Dong is the stage name of Kemar Christopher Dwaine Ottey, a reggae and dancehall artist and entertainer from Kingston, Jamaica.

Career

He begins recording music in the early 2000s and creates the dance group Ravers Clavers in early 2003 with a group of friends. The crew is made up of people from the Nannyville community and its membership changes over time, with around 12 to 13 members. Ravers Clavers helps develop a number of popular dance moves, including Sivva, Shampoo, Lebeh Lebeh, Lowe Mi, Fling and Flairy.

Ding Dong releases his first single, Bad Man Forward Bad Man Pull Up, which becomes a chart-topping hit in late 2005 and early 2006. He also contributes to the concept behind Wakky Dip, a tribute to the late Gerald “Bogle” Levy performed by Voicemail. He records with the late Danny Champagne and with Elephant Man, and he wins several dancing titles.

His 2009 collaboration with Jamaican singer Chevaughn, Holiday, is another release in his catalogue. He continues to record material including Hustler, Shampoo, Wul Up, Syvah, Gas, Lowe Mi, Fling, Rock The Floor with Shenseea, Flairy and Lebeh Lebeh. Performances and appearances

He performs in the United States, Europe and the Caribbean. He also appears at Rebel Salute in 2018, where he is billed as the first dancer turned dancehall artist to appear in the event’s 24-year history.

Brand work

Ding Dong provides the voice for Grace Foods’ Flava with a Beat brand campaign, and his dance move Flairy becomes the official dance for the campaign. He also advertises Magnum Tonic Wine, Grace Kennedy and Western Sports.
