Dillie Keane

Dillie Keane is a British comedy cabaret performer and songwriter from Portsmouth, United Kingdom, born in 1952. She is best known as one third of Fascinating Aïda, which she has been part of since the group forms in 1983, and she also maintains a solo career alongside that work.

Solo theatre and comedy work

Keane receives a Perrier Award nomination at the Edinburgh Festival in 1990 for her one-woman theatre show Single Again, with Sean Hughes winning the award that year. She returns the following year with Citizen Keane. Between 1999 and 2001 she tours another solo show, Back With You, which takes in the UK and Germany and wins the Best Comedy Award at the Moers Comedy Festival in 2001.

Writing and stage appearances

In 2002, Keane writes the songs for Sandi Toksvig’s musical comedy Big Night Out at the Little Palace Theatre and appears in the show at the Palace Theatre, Watford, alongside Toksvig and Bonnie Langford. She also writes songs for two pantomimes with Adèle Anderson. Keane appears with Jenny Eclair and Linda Robson in Grumpy Old Women Live, and plays The Duchess in Me and My Girl on a national tour in 2006. She also performs at the Edinburgh Festival in 2007 and receives a nomination for The Stage Best Actress Award.
