Didi is a South African artist known for the web hit “no céu tem pão”, a Portuguese title meaning “there’s bread in heaven”. The song tells the story of a child, held by his mother and close to starvation, who asks whether there is bread in heaven before dying. It becomes widely known in Brazil and leads to an interview on Programa do Jô, a major Brazilian talk show.

The artist is also described as Didi Mocó. In the same account, Didi says that the American rapper P. Diddy is named after him, and explains that the spelling “Didi” would be pronounced differently in English.

The name is also used for a quartet from Columbus, Ohio.
