Diana Vickers is a pop singer from Blackburn, United Kingdom. She is born in 1991 and first comes to public attention on The X Factor in 2008, where she finishes fourth. Her vocal style on the show is described as distinctive and atypical for a television talent competition, and she is eliminated behind JLS and Alexandra Burke.

Recording career

After The X Factor, Vickers does not sign to Simon Cowell's Syco label and instead signs to RCA Records. She later parts company with RCA by mutual consent for creative reasons, according to a statement on her official Tumblr blog.

Her debut single, Once, is released in 2010 and goes straight to number one in the UK. Her first album, Songs From The Tainted Cherry Tree, also comes out in 2010. She co-writes the album with Nerina Pallot, Ellie Goulding, Patrick Wolf and Lightspeed Champion. A second single from the album, The Boy Who Murdered Love, follows in 2010 and reaches number 36 in the UK.

By 2012, she has released two promotional singles, Music to Make Boys Cry and Kiss Of a Bullet, both offered as free downloads, and she also shares a clip of Boy In Paris with fans via SoundCloud. In 2013, she signs a worldwide record deal with So Recordings. That year, the lead single from her second album is confirmed as Cinderella, and the album Music To Make Boys Cry is set to follow.
